This NYC-based public charity was named for the late dean of Barnard College, and co-founder of AAUW's parent body. VGIF was founded in 1969 and has funded over 515 projects in 93 countries, focusing on issues ranging from education and health to economic empowerment and human rights.

The fund has been engaged in capacity building increasing staff, increasing funding and increasing its work with grantees and applicants. There are 2 regional funds -- Asia and Latin America and 2 interest field funds -- STEM and leaders. Interesting group
